By Jeffrey Landes, Epstein Becker Green PC ( November 18, 2016, 11:57 AM EST) -- This practice note will guide you in providing advice and counsel to employers regarding how to ensure compliance with equal pay laws, particularly the Equal Pay Act of 1963 (EPA). Although the EPA has been in effect for 50 years, it gained renewed momentum with White House backing and an active task force comprised of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the U.S. Department of Justice, the Office of Personnel Management, and the U.S. Department of Labor. The task force has aggressively pursued employers who have violated the EPA's requirements and has collected significant amounts of money for victims of sex-based wage discrimination. For more information on the EPA, see Heeding the Equal Pay Act in the Wage and Hour Compliance topic in Lexis Practice Advisor's Labor & Employment offering....
