A Georgia federal judge on Wednesday certified a class of SunTrust Banks Inc. employees accusing the bank of improperly handling their retirement funds under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, saying that a tweaked class definition addressed SunTrust's argument that the alleged conduct harmed some participants but helped others.

11th Circ. Reverses Split Decision In SunTrust ERISA Case
The Eleventh Circuit on Tuesday reversed a Georgia federal court's 2010 split decision in a class action accusing SunTrust Banks Inc. retirement plan fiduciaries of breaching their duties, saying a recent ruling over disclosure and prudence claims in another case warrants remanding the SunTrust one.
