Chicago Hospitals Delaying Antitrust Suit, Patients Say
Patients of Chicago's NorthShore University HealthSystem's four hospitals on Monday accused the facilities of submitting a specious expert report in an attempt to improperly delay class certification in the patients' antitrust suit accusing the hospitals of conspiring to overcharge patients after a 2000 merger.

Class Cert. Bid Revived In Chicago Hospital Antitrust Case
Patients of NorthShore University HealthSystem's hospitals on Wednesday renewed a bid for class status in their antitrust case over a 2000 merger, four months after the Seventh Circuit ruled that proof of price uniformity was not needed for class certification.

Patients of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Corp.'s hospitals are appealing a district court's rejection of its class certification bid in an antitrust suit accusing the Chicago-based health care network of abusing its monopoly power after it merged with another suburban Chicago hospital in 2000.
