A Massachusetts federal judge on Monday consolidated a pair of proposed class actions alleging that Takeda Pharmaceutical broke antitrust law by cutting a pay-for-delay deal to keep a generic version of its anti-constipation drug Amitiza off the market for over six years.

Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. was hit with a proposed class action Tuesday in Massachusetts federal court by a drug company who claims the pharmaceutical giant paid a competitor to keep a generic anti-constipation drug off the market for six years to preserve Takeda's monopoly.
