A federal magistrate judge overseeing multidistrict litigation over the 9/11 terrorist attacks levied sanctions against an alleged Osama bin Laden associate and al-Qaida fundraiser on Monday, saying the defendant has refused to turn over bank records that are central to the plaintiffs' allegations.

Judge Lets Al-Qaida Donors Off Hook In 9/11 MDL
A federal judge has granted dismissal to more than three dozen foreign defendants — including relatives of Osama bin Laden — in a case accusing them of donating funds later funneled to the group behind the Sept. 11 attacks, finding that the court did not have specific jurisdiction over them.
