Insurer Must Cover NRG's $34M Cleanup Costs In CAA Row
A Louisiana federal judge has ruled that Illinois Union Insurance Co. must indemnify an NRG Energy Inc. subsidiary for $34 million in costs it has incurred or will incur to remediate coal pollution pursuant to a settlement of a Clean Air Act suit, holding that all the expenditures fall within the scope of the policy's coverage.
