MetLife Escapes ERISA Suit Over Benefits Denial At 8th Circ.
The Eighth Circuit ruled Wednesday that Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. didn't improperly deny disability benefits to a former Anheuser-Busch employee under an Employee Retirement Income Security Act benefit plan it administered, and that a trial court was right to use a deferential standard to review the insurer's decision.
