Hotel Cos. Urge 11th Circ. To Sink Sex Trafficking Cases
Several hotel parent companies have asked the Eleventh Circuit to toss an appeal by victims of sex trafficking for alleged crimes on their properties, saying a lower court properly held that the complaints against them were merely "shotgun pleadings" that don't show they assisted the traffickers.

Several parent and management companies of Atlanta hotels aren't likely to duck claims of complicity brought by victims of sex trafficking, despite their argument they knew nothing of the alleged crime on their properties, a federal judge said Wednesday.

Insurer Sues To Escape Ga. Hotel Sex Trafficking Suit
An insurance company sued Varahi Hotel LLC and a woman who accused the hotel owner of sex trafficking and forced labor, saying in the Georgia federal court suit that it's not bound by a $1 million liability policy to defend a Red Roof Inn in Atlanta.
