( August 20, 2024, 1:34 PM EDT) -- NEW HAVEN, Conn. — One of the defendants in a putative class action brought by firefighters who contend that they were poisoned by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which acts as a protective coating in firefighting gear, moved in Connecticut federal court on Aug. 19, seeking a stay of the case pending a final transfer decision by the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation.
