Calif. Tribe Says High Court Ruling Doesn't End Land Claims
The Mishewal Wappo Tribe told the Ninth Circuit on Tuesday that a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling was irrelevant to its claim that the U.S. illegally terminated its land holdings more than 50 years ago, arguing that different laws are involved and that the Mishewal, unlike the tribe in the high court case, is alleging the government tricked it to avoid litigation.
