In a statement issued Wednesday, the Maryland Comptroller's Office said it would follow the federal 90-day payment extension offered as relief from the impact of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus. The office added separately that individuals and businesses that claim a federal tax filing extension would automatically extend their state filing deadline.
The comptroller previously extended business-related filing deadlines in March, April and May to June 1, including for sales and use tax, withholding tax and a variety of excise taxes and fees.
