The Department of Revenue extended the property tax payment due date for individuals and businesses from March 31 to April 15 and extended the property tax return due date from April 1 to April 15 for certain transportation companies, including railroad and private car companies.
Additionally, the department said it would waive penalties and interest on several taxes, including sales and use taxes and the tourist and development tax, that are collected in February if they are reported and remitted by March 31.
As for March taxes, companies that collect those taxes and are hurt by the novel coronavirus can receive a 10-day tax filing and payment extension from the normal due date of April 20.
