Mich. Extends State, Local Income Tax Deadlines Due To Virus

Michigan has extended filing and payment deadlines for state and city income taxes by three months to provide tax relief in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic through an executive order signed by the governor.

Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order Friday delaying the deadlines for all state and city income tax due in April. The deadlines for state and city income taxes due April 15 are pushed back to July 15, and any state or city income taxes due April 30 are now due July 31, according to the order.

Michigan has already extended sales, use and withholding tax deadlines, and has pledged to work with residents with state tax debts who became unemployed due to COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus.
