Retailer Wins $2M From IRS For Katrina-Related Tax Break
A Louisiana federal judge on Tuesday ordered the Internal Revenue Service to cough up a $2.1 million tax refund to southern home improvement chain Stine LLC, after determining that the retailer did not miss a construction deadline and is owed tax breaks for investing in areas hit hard by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
