Patriot Coal Trustee Wants $5.1M In Tax Refunds From W.Va.
The bankruptcy trustee of Appalachian mining firm Patriot Coal Corp. has sued the West Virginia State Tax Department in Virginia bankruptcy court for $5.1 million in tax refunds that the state allegedly owes under a deal it reached with Patriot Coal and its affiliates during a previous bankruptcy.
