CSX Can Challenge 'Discriminatory' Tax Cap, 4th Circ. Says
A South Carolina district court must decide whether the exclusion of property owned by CSX Transportation Inc. from a state cap on property tax increases amounts to a discriminatory tax on railroads that would be prohibited under federal law, the Fourth Circuit ruled Friday, reviving the rail carrier's tax challenge.
