The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians has pressed the U.S. Supreme Court to hear its appeal challenging an Eleventh Circuit decision that found a tribe member owes taxes on payments stemming from casino revenue, saying the payments were for general welfare purposes and are excluded from taxable income.
