A Massachusetts federal judge on Thursday stamped out False Claims Act allegations from an ex-contractor at Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., saying the company's failure to disclose serious complications involving diabetes drug Actos, heartburn medicine Prevacid and other treatments doesn't mean it overbilled taxpayers.

Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. on Friday urged a judge to dismiss a former contractor's False Claims Act suits accusing the drugmaker of purposely concealing unsafe drug interactions in four treatments for gout, heartburn and diabetes, saying she hasn't stated a valid claim.
