A former IRS employee who claims the agency terminated her for reporting its destruction of tax documents is firing back against the service's attempts to boot the case, calling it a "lame attempt" to avoid her information requests, according to a court document released Friday.

A woman who claimed the U.S. Internal Revenue Service fired her for reporting the destruction of tax documents on Monday accused the Texas federal judge handling her case of favoring the IRS because of a bribery case involving his sister, a former El Paso County judge.
