    DC Circ. Says Public-Private Project Isn't Bound By Wage Law

    The D.C. Circuit on Tuesday ruled that a mixed-use development doesn't have to pay local prevailing wages to its workers just because it was built in partnership with the Washington, D.C., government, striking down the U.S. Department of Labor's "novel reading" of the Davis-Bacon Act.

    DOL Presses DC Circ. To Apply Wage Law To CityCenterDC

    The U.S. Department of Labor fought Thursday to force the District of Columbia's prime CityCenterDC development to pay local prevailing wages to its workers, telling a D.C. Circuit panel the project's complex public-private arrangement renders it a "public work" under federal labor law.
