The Sixth Circuit on Friday refused to revive a Kentucky Wages and Hours Act suit that’s part of multidistrict litigation alleging Amazon's warehouse workers deserve pay for time spent passing through security checks, saying a lower court was right to rule that time spent waiting in line isn’t payable work.

A putative class of Amazon warehouse workers asked the Sixth Circuit Thursday to reverse a lower court's dismissal of their wage suit, saying it erroneously invoked a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on a federal law that differs from the Kentucky statute on which they based their claims that employees should be paid for time spent in security screenings.
