An objector urged a California federal judge Thursday to throw out Wells Fargo's aggregated $95.7 million deal to resolve multiple class actions claiming it stiffed thousands of mortgage consultants' wages, arguing that the deal unfairly claws back $25.7 million already awarded to some class members and dilutes their recovery.

A California federal judge said Thursday she'll preliminarily approve Wells Fargo's $95.7 million deal to resolve certified class claims that the bank stiffed thousands of mortgage consultants' wages, but told class counsel "nothing" about their $31.9 million attorney fees request "looks reasonable to me."

Wells Fargo has agreed to pay an additional $70 million to resolve claims from thousands of mortgage consultants alleging the bank stiffed them by clawing back hourly wages and vacation time from their earned sales commissions, adding to the $25 million it has already paid, the workers told a California federal judge Friday.
