The Second Circuit on Thursday upheld a decision that a subcontractor must cover nearly $8.7 million in damages awards against Home Depot over a worker's electrocution at a New York construction site.

A worker injured at a New York construction site urged the Second Circuit on Monday to keep in place a finding that his employer must pay him $8.7 million as a result of the incident, saying the company's appeal was trying to make up for a bad defense in district court.
