A former longtime worker of Ohio's Department of Youth Services urged the Sixth Circuit Wednesday to revive her sex bias case alleging the agency favors LGBTQ employees, arguing a lower court wrongly disregarded evidence that the department denied her a promotion, demoted her, then filled the positions with less-qualified candidates.

An Ohio federal judge granted the state's Department of Youth Services a win Thursday in a worker's suit alleging she was denied a promotion and then demoted because she is a straight woman, ruling that she didn't present sufficient evidence to show the state favored LGBTQ workers.
