A proposed class of unionized female public defenders on Friday settled civil rights claims against Delaware County, Pennsylvania, nearly three years after suing their employer for alleged "systemic, enduring and continuing wage disparity" between male and female attorneys in suburban Philadelphia.

Pennsylvania's Delaware County Public Defender's Office got some claims trimmed Friday from a federal lawsuit alleging it discriminated against female attorneys, but it will still have to face allegations related to nonpay discrimination and damages that accrued before 2019, according to court records.
