The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday denied two bids to review the scope of its 2018 decision that barred public-sector labor groups from making workers join or pay dues while also dismissing a former U.S. Department of Labor employee's appeal of his expulsion from a union.

A California police officer requested the U.S. Supreme Court's review of a Ninth Circuit decision dismissing his suit claiming a law enforcement union unlawfully refused his resignation after the high court ruled in 2018 that public-sector labor groups can't force workers to join or pay dues.
