International Business Machines Corp. does not have to face claims in arbitration from two workers who said they were fired because of their age, the D.C. Circuit said Friday, finding they couldn't use a "piggybacking" rule to reinstate their untimely claims.

IBM told the D.C. Circuit it should back an arbitrator's decision to toss age bias claims brought by two former employees, arguing that the workers' disagreement with how the arbitration agreement was interpreted doesn't mean the company's wins should be scrapped.
