A California federal judge has refused to toss or transfer proposed antitrust class actions by college volunteer coaches over the NCAA's now-defunct rules prohibiting Division I volunteer coaches from being paid, finding the claims are sufficiently pled and the NCAA hasn't shown litigating in California is inconvenient.

The NCAA urged a California federal judge Wednesday to toss a proposed class action from former volunteer coaches who claim an association bylaw limiting the number of paid coaches Division I schools may hire amounts to illegal wage fixing, saying the group has failed to show how the rules caused them any injury.
