A Delaware bankruptcy judge Tuesday gave cruise ship software maker DeCurtis Holding LLP permission to tap into $2 million in Chapter 11 financing as it seeks to put itself on the auction block in the wake of a $21 million patent infringement verdict.

A Florida-based maker of cruise line software filed for Chapter 11 protection Monday in Delaware bankruptcy court with over $88.5 million in debt, saying it does not have the cash to pay a $21 million award after losing a patent infringement suit to Carnival Corp. in March.
