A Teamsters affiliate asked a Florida federal court to ban two railroad companies from retaliating against railway maintenance employees for unionizing, saying 31 union supporters have lost their jobs and their co-workers have been denied pay raises and time off since the union won its representation election.

The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division of the Teamsters accused a short-line railroad subsidiary of retaliating against employees for unionizing, telling a Florida federal court that the company froze hiring and then laid off nearly half its workforce after workers organized.
