A Washington federal judge slammed the brakes Thursday on a truck driver's bid to return his proposed class action against Swift Transportation to state court, ruling that the company has demonstrated the legal dispute over its alleged failure to pay truckers overtime is worth more than $5 million.

Swift Transportation Co. of Arizona LLC is accused of consistently shorting at least 100 truck drivers of overtime pay over the past three years, according to a proposed class action removed to federal court in Washington on Thursday.
