A recycling company will pay $90,000 to resolve a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit accusing it of firing a veteran employee because he participated in an agency probe regarding gender bias, a filing in Alabama federal court said.

A recycling company illegally fired a manager who said in a sex bias investigation that the business passed over women for laborer jobs, after its president pressured him to reel back the admission, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said in a suit announced Wednesday.
