Law360, New York ( April 30, 2015, 2:39 PM EDT) -- The president signed Executive Order 13673, Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces, on July 31, 2014.[1] The stated policy of the order is to increase efficiency and cost savings to government contractors by ensuring that they understand and comply with labor laws.[2] It is designed to ensure that government contractors comply with labor laws designed to promote safe, healthy and fair workplaces.[3] According to a White House press statement, a "vast majority of federal contractors play by the rules," but the order is aimed at corporations who do not treat workers fairly or endanger their health and safety.[4]...
