Numbers of unaccompanied minors and family units being apprehended are already approaching the highest points recorded during the Obama administration, and President Donald Trump himself is calling for a shutdown of the government in September unless unspecified border security measures are passed by Congress. In response to these increased arrivals at the border, the administration has responded by instituting a policy of prosecuting all border crossers and separating parents from their children, thereby turning the children arriving as family units into new unaccompanied minors....
