NCAA decision to strike down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 has the potential to impact the entire sports industry. A relative newcomer to the sports scene, esports (also known as professional video gaming), has increased its popularity across the globe exponentially over the last several years. Esports is also a young sport in the demographics of its competitors and fans. As of 2017, a top-tier "League of Legends" player was 21.2 years old whereas the average NFL player was 26.2 years old.[1] In addition, a 2017 report from Interpret LLC, a market research firm, indicated that the median age for an esports viewer in the United States is 28,[2] while other market research firms found the average NFL viewer was 50 years old in 2017.[3]...
