The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office 2012 Telework Annual Report identified that over 7,500 employees agencywide were working from home at least once a week (an increase of 695 teleworking employees from fiscal year 2011), with 4,145 employees working from home between four and five days per week.[1] One popular teleworking program is the Patent Hoteling Program (PHP) 50-mile hoteling program, whereby examiners eligible for the program can change their official duty station to their home if they live within 50 miles of the USPTO and are not required to report to the campus twice per biweek.
