RE Rumor Mill: Pier 40, JPMorgan, Royal York Hotel

By Kaitlin Ugolik ( May 30, 2014, 7:24 PM EDT) -- A New York attorney is reportedly considering filing a lawsuit against the Empire State Development Corp. over its deal to transfer $100 million worth of air rights from Hudson River Park's Pier 40 to the St. John's Center site. Attorney Arthur Schwartz told downtown Manhattan newspaper The Villager that he might launch a lawsuit to block the deal, which was allegedly carried out in secret. The suit would reportedly focus on an law governing air rights transfers that requires that they take place under local zoning ordinances....
