In 2014 we saw several mandates become effective that potentially impact costs for employers, including mandates prohibiting discrimination due to pre-existing conditions or gender, eliminating annual limits on insurance coverage and ensuring coverage for individuals participating in clinical trials. During 2014, the government commenced providing tax credits, established health insurance marketplaces, increased access to Medicaid and began enforcing the individual mandate, which requires individuals to obtain basic health coverage....
