Gorsuch of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals to fill the U.S. Supreme Court vacancy created by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. By all accounts, Judge Gorsuch is a brilliant jurist with exactly the right qualifications and temperament to be a Supreme Court justice.[1] The opposition to his nomination thus far has devolved into petty partisan and personal attacks not worthy of a response.[2] His decisions place him directly in the mainstream of American constitutional law — a judicial philosophy that respects the rule of law, protects individual rights, and limits the scope of government power. Indeed, it could be argued that Judge Gorsuch is exactly the type of judge the framers had in mind when crafting a Constitution consistent with classical liberal principles.[3]...
