Deals Rumor Mill: Toshiba, Dalian Wanda, Pactera

By Benjamin Horney ( September 6, 2017, 4:40 PM EDT) -- The board of directors for Toshiba Corp. met on Wednesday to consider an updated proposal from Western Digital Corp. concerning its sought-after memory chip business, but no deal was agreed upon, according to a report from Reuters. According to the Wednesday report, Toshiba is hoping to reach an agreement within the next few weeks, and the company's board aims to vote on Western Digital's latest proposal next week. Reports on Tuesday said Western Digital is willing to take its hat out of the ring in the battle to buy Toshiba Memory Corp. in return for a stronger position in a joint venture between Western Digital and Toshiba. Last week, Toshiba said there were three potential buyer groups vying for Toshiba Memory, which could be worth more than $18 billion....
