AmEx Judge Rejects Merchant Deal Over Atty 'Collusion'
A New York federal judge on Tuesday rejected a proposed class action settlement in the antitrust litigation merchants brought against American Express Co., saying the frequent exchange of confidential information that one of the lead plaintiffs' attorneys shared with counsel for MasterCard Inc. "smacks of blatant collusion."
