Ex-Gateway CFO Settles SEC Fraud Suit
Former Gateway Inc. Chief Financial Officer John Todd on Monday agreed to pay more than $400,000 to settle U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission allegations that he falsely represented the computer maker's financial condition in connection with a 2000 SEC filing.

Former Gateway Inc. CEO Jeffrey Weitzen and another executive will pay about $380,000 to settle U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission allegations of fraud connected with a 2000 financial filing, the SEC said Tuesday.

Two former Gateway Inc. executives found liable for sketchy accounting asked a California federal judge on Wednesday for a new trial, and the computer company's ex-CEO pushed for summary judgment, on claims brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
