PPG Industries Inc. lodged a Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act suit against the federal government Tuesday, claiming that decades-old wartime mandates for chromium chemical production leave the government responsible for contributing to cleanup efforts at Superfund sites in New Jersey.
