Kanye West Gets 'Gold Digger' Copyright Action Gutted
A California federal judge on Thursday threw out most of the claims in a copyright infringement lawsuit alleging rapper Kanye West stole a portion of a 1970s song for his 2005 hit "Gold Digger," saying that distortions of the short samples meant the average audience wouldn't recognize them.
