FTC Says Ardagh 'Detached From Reality' In Merger Fight
The Federal Trade Commission on Wednesday continued its quest to halt a $1.7 billion bid by Ardagh Group SA for the North American packaging unit of France's Saint-Gobain SA, telling a D.C. federal judge that the companies' defense of the deal indicated a detachment from reality.

Deal In Ardagh's $2B Merger Left Out Of FTC Case, For Now
Ardagh Group SA won't be able to submit evidence about a new proposal to restructure its $1.7 billion bid for the North American packaging unit of France's Saint-Gobain SA at an upcoming hearing in the Federal Trade Commission's bid to block the deal, a Washington federal judge said Tuesday, as the agency attacked the proposal as "gamesmanship."
