FDA, Consumer Groups Settle FSMA Rollout Spat
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has reached a settlement in its dispute with consumer groups seeking to hold the agency to deadlines to propose and finalize food safety overhaul rules in accordance with the Food Safety Modernization Act, according to a Ninth Circuit court filing Tuesday.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration told the Ninth Circuit on Friday that the government shutdown made it impossible for the agency to propose a food safety rule by a court-ordered Nov. 30 deadline, asking for a freeze on the order.
