The U.S. Department of Justice said on Wednesday that Florida-based Healogics Inc. has agreed to pay $22.51 million to settle False Claims Act allegations that it knowingly billed Medicare for unnecessary treatments.

Healogics Shakes Whistleblowing Doctors' FCA Suit
A Florida federal judge tossed a False Claims Act suit alleging wound treatment provider Healogics Inc. instructed its doctors to upcode or do unnecessary procedures in a scheme to overbill government-funded health care programs, concluding Wednesday the whistleblowers' allegations were too vague.
