Umpqua Challenges Job Seeker's Credit Check Injury Claims
Umpqua Bank urged a Washington federal court on Friday to dismiss a putative class action by a woman who says the bank unlawfully ran a credit check on her while she was applying for a job, saying the woman's new allegations concerning harm were added only after the Supreme Court's Spokeo decision.

Spokeo Nixes Job Seekers' Credit Check Suit, Umpqua Says
Umpqua Bank asked a federal judge in Washington state on Tuesday to toss a proposed class action accusing the financial holding company of violating federal banking laws by giving job applicants inconspicuous credit check forms, saying the U.S. Supreme Court's precedential Spokeo decision means the suit must be dismissed.
