9th Circ. Backs Feds In Suit Over Forest Thinning Project

The Ninth Circuit on Thursday refused to block a logging project to thin trees and undergrowth from parts of California's Shasta-Trinity National Forest that are home to the northern spotted owl, backing a quick win for the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in a suit alleging the project shirks mandatory owl recovery guidelines.
