A whistleblower whose successful False Claims Act suit cost Encompass Health Corp. $48 million over allegations that it defrauded Medicare can't proceed on her claim that the hospital giant retaliated against her for filing the complaint, a Florida federal judge has ruled, saying she relinquished the claim in a severance agreement.
